Ultimate Christmas Movie List ~ What’s Your Favorite?

I always have the same problem around various holidays. I download to many holiday themed movies, and don’t get them all watched before the season’s spirit has left me empty once again. Halloween is usually the worst. I mean there are literally thousands of semi-adequate, cheesy horror films to feel my Halloween season nights so I have to pick and choose. This year I focused on the Scream series and Halloweentown for a little bit of nostalgia.

(Charlie Brown gets downloaded for every holiday no questions asked . . . don’t mess with my childhood!!!)

With dad unable to do much this season, I kinda went a little way overboard, even for me, with the Christmas/Winter themed movie downloads. If I had seen it or heard of it even once, it went in the download file. I just thought of two more to add, in fact, while writing this.

I was wondering if anyone else had regular holiday movie binges. Well, do ya?

If I was alone in my tiny Hong Kong apartment, I would have watched all of them by now. Karen and dad are a little less tolerant of all night movie binges so we’re slowly working our way through them.

I think part of the reason I love holiday movies so much is that they remind me of times past while bridging present times as well. I remember the first time I watched Mickey’s Christmas Carol with my cousin Morgan. She was about five or six at the time, and I couldn’t believe she had never seen some of these Christmas goodies. She liked some of them so much that she borrowed my tape (yes VHS tape) when she went home. BTW I’m still waiting to get my tape back . . . seven years later.

I also showed several lesser known Christmas American movies, which have been annual viewing traditions for my family, to my friends in China. It helped me feel closer to my family, who were watching them in the States, and brought a new experience to a different culture. I love that these thirty minutes to two hour long shows can bridge time and space.
